Adrigole secured a hard-fought 0-10 to 1-5 victory over Gabriel Rangers in a tense and physical encounter, earning an automatic semi-final spot. 

The wet and windy conditions made for a challenging match, with both sides battling fiercely for every ball. The opening 15 minutes were scoreless, with both team reacquainting themselves with each other. As Adrigole looked to be settling in to a rhythm Gerard O'Callaghan struck for a big score against the wind for Gabriels. Adrigole responded taking advantage of the wind with scores from Cian O'Shea, Ben O'Sullivan and Neil O'Sullivan bringing them into half time with the slenderest of leads and a lot of work to do in the second half as they faced the elements. 

Adrigole delivered a much-improved performance in the second half. With the wind now against them, they showed greater composure and control, relying more on their strong running to get the ball up the pitch. Sean O'Sullivan at wing back put in a big shift to help bring the game to Gabriels. Adrigole began to dominate the middle sector more with more possession being won by Neil O'Sullivan and Sean O'Shea as the game progressed. Ben O'Sullivan won some vital ball in the full forward line shorn of the excellent Jason Harrington who departed due to injury early in the first half. 

 

As the game hung in the balance, crucial scores from Charlie Joe O'Sullivan and a brace from super-sub Kevin Goggin edged Adrigole ahead. Adrigole's resolute and disciplined defending repelled Gabriels as they desperately tried to get back to parity. 

 

The final score of 0-10 to 1-5 reflected a determined display from Adrigole, especially in the second half. The win ensured a well-deserved victory and a place in the semi-finals, Gabriels also progress to a quarter-final meeting with Mitchelstown.
