The Adrigole GAA Golf Classic was launched recently at Berehaven Golf Club. In attendance at the launch were Berehaven Golf Club Captains Joe O’Neill and Bernadette O’Sullivan along with club President Christina O’Sullivan, together with Adrigole GAA club officers, players and members.  

The main sponsors of the Golf Classic are Bernard Harrington’s Bar, Glengarriff; Murnane & O’Shea Ltd; Harrington Estates; Murphy’s SuperValu, Castletownbere; and insuremyvan.ie.

The Golf Classic will take place in Berehaven Golf Club on Friday May 22nd, Saturday May 23rd and Sunday May 24th. The format will be a 3-ball scramble and entry is €100 per team.  A number of additional competitions will also take place over the weekend including the Longest Drive sponsored by Cronin’s Ballylickey, a Kids’ Putting Competition kindly sponsored by Joe Downing Construction, the Closest to the Pin sponsored by The Blue Loo, Glengarriff, and a Golf Ball Competition sponsored by Beara Cabs & Coaches.

 The Golf Classic plays a vital role in providing much needed finance for Adrigole GAA. In 2020 Adrigole installed state-of-the-art floodlighting for the pitch. This has proved to be a fantastic facility not alone for Adrigole GAA Club and the Adrigole parish, but also for the wider Beara community. 2025 saw the completion of a fully tarmac-surfaced walkway around the GAA field. Funds raised in the Golf Classic will allow further capital investment to take place as the club approaches our centenary in 2027, along with helping to meet the ongoing costs that arise on a daily basis.
